From our 2025 wild forest harvest on Nannuo Mountain, this Shengpu reveals its origin from the very first sip.
As you gently unwrap the natural paper enclosing the leaves, an under-forest fragrance blooms into the air, fresh, earthy, and vibrant. The brew opens with a honeyed sweetness, softened by delicate notes of wild mountain flowers. Beneath this gentle upper layer, a forest-born freshness emerges, bright and green, like a breeze drifting through moss-covered hillsides after rain.
The first infusion is gentle and delicate, yet carries surprising depth in flavour. The liquor, clear and luminous, from pale gold to soft amber, unfolds on the tongue, releasing its sweetness, minerality and layered aromas. A quiet memory of Chinese childhood surfaces: the warm, comforting scent of roasted sunflower seeds.
As the session evolves, the tea’s floral and honeyed notes deepen and expand. A soft hui gan emerges gracefully and lingers. The finish, like wild honey steeped in petals, clings to the palate, blooming anew with each breath and sip. A clear and steady Qi rises, serene, bright, and enlivening, echoing the quiet strength of the Nannuo forests.
