Centuries upon centuries have slowly shaped these ancient trees during their natural growth in the wild forest of Lunan Mountain, at 1.850 m asl. This brew has the full flower taste typical of the Menghai area. It boasts a round and fresh palate even when prepared just before fermentation.

The leaves are carefully hand-picked and processed by one of the best tea masters of the area in order to obtain the centuries-old flavor of our authentic pu’er tea. This shengpu has not undergone any accelerated fermentation process, as it would undermine the high quality of the leaves.
This tea changes according to the location and season. The flavor continues to transform over time, incorporating the aromas of the places you transport it to.

Our 2018 Shengpu aged Pu'er tea from the ancient trees on mount Lunan is available only in loose-leaves. Have a taste of different seasons with our pressed cakes of ancient trees Shengpu from 2019 , 2020 , 2021 , 2022, 2023, 2024

Fresh, Floral, a little Funky and slightly Nutty

Because the tea is preserved as loose leaves, it is very easy to see that a lot of time was put into preserving the whole leaves. This translates into very nice, clean tasting liquor.
The flavour is very fresh and floral upfront with a deep minerality that later transitions to a lightly nutty and funky aroma.
Overall very high quality tea and definitely worth a buy!

Ottimo

Thank you Riccardo! It was a difficult harvest from a logistical point of view, yet the flavors paid off for any effort - especially in terms of ageing potential

Delicious to drink now, excellent to age and drink later

The Eastern Leaves Sheng Puerh as loose leaves is absolutely delicious to drink now that is young. It conveys the freshness of the ancient shady forest where the trees grew. It is so nice to observe and enjoy the perfectly intact shape of the large leaves, sign of skilled hands of the tea master that preserved the integrity of the shape of the leaves throughout the process.
I strongly recommend to age these Eastern Leaves loose leaves. You will be surprised by the depth of the ageing after only few years. I am ageing the Eastern Leaves loose leaves of years 2016-17-18-19-20 and I can already taste some delicious flavours of dried apricot, raisins, berries, dates.
