Nannuo mountain has a distinct flavor that imparts an initial astringency to its pu'er tea, followed by a surprising floral aftertaste that lingers on the palate for a long time after drinking its clear liquor.
Harvest 2019 is enjoying a particularly complex aging, one of the best in all of our production. The dry leaves emit a delicate scent of mulberry and wood, which matures into apricot jam, stewed apples and peaches in the infused leaves. Each brew is a crescendo of flavours that begins with the customary initial astringency and progresses to a delicate flowery fragrance, leaving room for a variety of stone fruits to fill the palate in the long-lasting aftertaste. The golden liquor is smooth and promotes a gentle salivation that gives a mouthwatering sweetness (生津 Shēngjīn), sign of its quality.
It is a gentle and well balanced tea that has evolved over time to represent all the hues of flavor that Nannuo mountain has to offer.
The wrapping paper of this compressed tea carries the Chinese characters 不二心 (bù érxīn), meaning loyal and devoted, as its flavor that keeps its identity through the aging process, and as a reminder of our constant commitment to protecting the natural environment of Nannuo.
To discover and appreciate the richness of Pu'er, start with tasting Nannuo Sheng pu. Here, we organically care for our treasured wild forest tea trees, without the use of mechanical processes or chemical fertilizers.
We learned from the years of expertise and ability of the Hani minorities that have inhabited this land for centuries. Their culture is as prosperous and nuanced as the taste of the tea leaves they carefully and manually select.
