For over two thousand years, Chinese culture has fostered a strong relationship with fragrance. This bond finds one of its expressions in incense, which serves as a starting point to communicate with nature and a way to widen our understanding of the universe, space, and time.

Chinese fragrance culture has constantly evolved over the centuries. It has found refined ways to extract the best essence from long-lasting spices, progressing from the burning of herbs and wood to the use of resins, elaborate burners, heating methods, and fumigations.

In this event, we will taste three teas and discover the Chinese art of fragrance through three separate incenses. We will embark on a historical journey beginning in the Spring and Autumn periods, continuing through the great Han dynasty, and reaching its height in the Tang and Song dynasties, when daily life was inseparable from incense.

This workshop will take place on Friday October 2nd, from 6 to 8 pm, at SCULPTORS (Berggasse 17, 1090 Vienna, Austria).
