We are wrapping our leaves and favourite teaware to embark on our personal journey to the West, from Milan to Copenhagen, passing by Venezia, Vienna, and The Hague.

There is an intense calendar of masterclasses and workshops, and we are happy to see it growing each year — not only in number, but especially in intensity and depth of knowledge: scrolling the list of topics is like being back in conversation with the Chinese scholars who taught us for so many years, and we are proud to be able to bring these subjects to our beloved Europe.

Between one event and the next there will be time to meet all of you who wish to share a cup: if you happen to be in the same city at the same time, please let us know. We look forward to meeting you.

Milano Tea Week — September 19th–27th

The first edition of Milano Tea Week is a project of the Chinese Tea Culture Foundation, in collaboration with the Global Japanese Tea Association and with our support. The theme is Tea Through Time, and our tea room has the pleasure of opening the week with four seminars — the second year already that we work alongside the Foundation. On this occasion we will present the monograph curated and published following the 2025 seminars. The monograph will be available for sale at every stop along the way.

We will be hosted by our tea room, included in the first edition of the Milan Tea Week. All of the seminars are organised together with the Chinese Tea Culture Foundation: it is the second year already, and we will be proud to present the monography curated and published following the seminars held in 2025.

1. Perfecting Craftsmanship: The Art of Jianshui Milan, September 19, 10:00–12:00 Venture into the world of Yunnan's Jianshui ceramics — a tradition dating back to primitive times, refined through the Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Discover how Jianshui teapots became celebrated for their uniqueness and exceptional refinement, as rare teas accompany the narration of this centuries-old craft.
2. Diancha: The Chinese Art of Powdered Tea Milan, September 19, 14:00–16:00 Immerse yourself in the refined dimension of the Song Dynasty, when tea was elevated to an art form. Through Jianzhan ceramics and the precise simplicity of gestures, discover Diancha — the preparation of whisked powdered tea. Participants will practice the art and engage in a lively "tea fighting" (Dòuchá) competition.
3. Yixing Teapots: A Craftsmanship of Popular Identity Milan, September 20, 10:00–12:00 Journey to the Ming Dynasty, when Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang's decree ended the era of powdered tea and ushered in the age of loose-leaf tea. Explore how this radical change revolutionised the art of infusion and ceramics, giving rise to the myths of pioneering figures and the timeless art of Yixing teapots.
4. Gaiwan: The Becoming of a National Icon Milan, September 20, 14:00–16:00 Conclude our journey with the most recognised protagonist of Chinese tea preparation: the gaiwan. From Tang dynasty chawan bowls to the addition of the saucer in the Song, the lid in the Ming, and its final form in the Qing — discover how this simple object became a symbol of national culture, reflecting traditions, arts, and philosophical thought.

Venezia — Sunday, September 27th

We will be hosted by Ar-Tea, a shop and gallery newly opened in the heart of our adoptive city, right beside the beautiful Campo San Barnaba. We will give an intense overview of the Yunnanese terroir: we will be there as farmers and long-time residents of Yunnan, introducing the different styles of cultivation and the terroir in its full extension, with its wide variety of aromas and flavours. We will bring some special leaves with us, and we will be available for more specific conversation and brewing with whoever wishes.

Vienna — October 2nd–4th

On Friday the 2nd, Incense and tea: the Chinese art of fragrance — three teas and three incenses, following the Chinese relationship with fragrance from the Spring and Autumn period through the Han, Tang and Song. At SCULPTORS, Berggasse 17, from 18:00 to 20:00. Seats are limited.

On the 3rd and 4th, Alice and Anqi will hold our table at the Vienna Tea Festival with our teas and incense, and two events:

The Hague — October 3rd–4th

Hosted by Vivian at ITC The Hague, we propose a cycle of seminars that continues the line presented in Milan: the evolution of tea culture and ceramics in China, from Song through Ming to Qing.

Copenhagen — October 5th–7th

On the 6th we hold a private masterclass for the team of Alchemist, the two-Michelin-star restaurant — teaching professionals of that level is as much our own growth as theirs, and we are grateful for the invitation. On the 7th, a tea tasting and workshop at Sing Tehus, our base in Copenhagen.
